Election candidates back crucial NHS report release
West Midlands Clinical Senate was due to issue its view on whether or not the proposals for the future configuration of services at the Alexandra Hospital, including the retention of A&E, was viable in February.
However the report publication has been delayed and the election purdah period sighted as to the reason why.
Save the Alex wrote to all six parliamentary asking them to jointly sign a letter that called for the reports immediate release.
The campaign are pleased that all 6 have signed. (Copies of the 6 signed here)
Neal Stote Chair of the campaign said
“The signing of the letter by all six candidates should now remove any obstacle the nhs has to publishing the report before the election.
Purdah should not be used as an excuse to stifle debate on such an important issue as the future of our hospital.
The public have a right to know all the facts so they can be debated in public before they vote. I’m pleased the politicians support that view and the nhs should now publicly publish the report without further delay.”
